Cities in Dust, our archaeology blog. We'd also like to keep its tone lighthearted and informational. Upon reflection, Adela and I have decided to follow mother's advice and not discuss politics or religion at the table. So, with a hat tip to James Lileks's
ScreedBlog, we'll be keeping our declasse opinoins here. Doing so is probably in everyone's best interests. We are outliers in the political universe of academia, and we'd like to make it as easy as possible for people who might be interested only in our archaeological work to ignore our retrograde notions. Besides, we're not entirely convinced that everyone who shouted "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" in the last administration really believes it anymore...
